All The Details
Several years ago we purchased a one bedroom, one bathroom 750 square foot flat just off McDaniel Avenue and across the street from the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail and Cleveland Park. Whether it’s because of a lower rent or a desire to live alone without roommates, we have noticed an increasing popularity for one bedroom condos. #45 University Ridge is located just inside the drive leading to the interior cul-de-sac, somewhat shielded from the roadway.
University Ridge is a part of the history of Greenville. Built in the late 1930’s as apartments, they served as homes of some of Furman University’s faculty when the college was in what is now downtown Greenville, and a canopy of aged oaks extends over the neighborhood.
The one bedroom condos at University Ridge have an appealing interior design, with several arched doorways and original hardwood floors. #45 has hardwood floors throughout, except for ceramic tile in the bathroom and tile flooring in the kitchen, which includes stainless appliances and granite tile countertops. The flat also includes W/D connections.
The wider neighborhood near University Ridge, closely boundaried by Augusta Road, Main Street, and McDaniel Avenue, is delightful. Just a walk through the neighborhood and through a parking lot (about .2 miles) is the Greenville location of Sidewall Pizza Company, and another half block brings you to a Biscuit Head GVL breakfast. One mile’s walk through Cleveland and Falls Park on the Reedy River and you’ll reach Smoke on the Water Restaurant at the corner of Augusta and Main, Spill The Beans coffee house, Mellow Mushroom, or The Lazy Goat restaurant. The Caine Halter Family YMCA is 7/10 of a mile from #45.
