Directly across the Reedy River and within easy walking distance from Riverbend Condominiums is Greenville Technical College. Riverbend is very convenient for students at Greenville Tech — about .3 miles down Cleveland Street on a spur of the Swamp Rabbit Trail. In good weather it is perfect for a walk to classes, with no need to find additional parking on campus.
Also within walking distance of this neighborhood is an entrance to the Swamp Rabbit Trail and to Cleveland Park, built in 1922 surrounding the beautiful Reedy River. Cleveland Park includes tennis courts, numerous shelters, playgrounds, and a portion of the extensive Swamp Rabbit Trail set along the banks of the river. As a very extensive trail system, the Swamp Rabbit Trail has numerous entrances, including one very near to Riverbend Condominiums.
The nearest SRT entrance to Riverbend is about .2 miles away down East Faris Road — all by sidewalk except for crossing the road at Cleveland Street and East Faris. This particular entrance has an abundance of natural and wildlife features, along with fields, nooks, picnic areas, and views of the Reedy River. You can access the YMCA easily down this portion of the trail (about .4 miles from the entrance) plus the Sliding Rock Creek Mountain Bike Trail (about .4 miles from the entrance). Walk further and you will find the many picnic shelters for grilling and gatherings at Cleveland Park, the Greenville Zoo, and the Cleveland Park tennis courts.
